In every thriving church community, there are people whose work is highly visible—those who stand at the pulpit, lead in worship, or guide programs out front. And then there are those whose faithfulness unfolds more quietly, behind the scenes, ensuring that the ministry of the church is not only inspired—but sustainable, accountable, and strong.

Kristine Olson is one of those people.

As our Director of Financial and Business Administration, Kristine carries a responsibility that is both deeply practical and profoundly spiritual. She tends to the systems and structures that allow our ministry to flourish—ensuring that our finances are handled with care, integrity, and precision, and that the day-to-day business of the church runs smoothly and effectively.

And she does all of this with remarkable grace.

Kristine is the kind of person who makes even the most complex matters feel approachable. Financial conversations—often intimidating or overwhelming—become manageable in her presence. She has a way of listening carefully, explaining clearly, and walking alongside others with patience and kindness. Whether you are a staff member navigating a budget question or a church member seeking clarity, Kristine meets you with openness and respect.

She is, quite simply, easy to talk with.

But beyond her competence—and it is significant—what truly sets Kristine apart is the spirit she brings into the life of our church. Her laughter is infectious. Her joy is real. There is a lightness she carries that reminds us that even in the seriousness of budgets, spreadsheets, and financial planning, there is still room for connection, for humor, and for genuine human warmth.

Behind the scenes, Kristine’s dedication is unwavering. When financial matters grow complex—and they often do—she works tirelessly alongside our finance committee to ensure that everything is handled correctly, thoughtfully, and faithfully. And her impact extends even further.

Kristine also plays a vital role in supporting the Foundation of First Presbyterian Church. Through her work, she helps steward legacy gifts that will shape the future of this congregation for generations to come. In this way, Kristine’s work is not only about the present—it is deeply invested in the future.

She helps us honor the past, steward the present, and prepare for what is yet to come.
