Throughout the year, we gather for special services that celebrate the heart of our faith and the rhythm of the Christian calendar. These meaningful moments invite us to pause, reflect, and rejoice as a community.

Advent & Christmas

We begin the season of hope with Advent worship, lighting candles of hope, peace, joy, and love each week. Christmas Eve services offer a beautiful celebration with carols, candlelight, and the good news of Christ’s birth. We offer two services; an earlier Family-oriented service designed for families with children and youth, and a later Candlelight service that features our beautiful choir and more traditional liturgy.

Lent & Holy Week

Lent, which starts with Ash Wednesday, is a time of reflection and renewal, leading us toward the cross and resurrection. Holy Week includes contemplative services like Maundy Thursday, remembering the Last Supper, and Good Friday, reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice.

Easter Sunday

A joyful celebration of resurrection and new life! Our Easter services are filled with triumphant music, the flowering of the cross, and the proclamation of hope through Christ risen.

Other Special Services

We also offer seasonal opportunities for community worship such as:

  • Pentecost (the Birthday of the Church)
  • Pride Sunday (kicking off our celebration of Pride month)
  • Juneteenth Sunday (celebrating the importance of freedom for all in Christ)
  • Blessing of the Animals (a pet-friendly, outdoor service in the summer...make sure they are leashed)
  • Bix Sunday (a Bix Beiderbeck-themed jazz service honoring the heritage of FPC as the church where Bix grew up and his mother played the organ & piano)
  • World Communion Sunday (where we celebrate communion with siblings in Christ all over the world)
  • All Saints Sunday (remembering those members who have passed away in the previous year)
  • Carnival Sunday (a fun Mardi Gras-themed service that prepares us for the season of Lent)
