The Deacons of First Presbyterian Church invite you to join us on Sunday, October 25 for a special day of fellowship, celebration, and gratitude as we gather to honor our church family. This all-church dinner will be especially meaningful as we welcome and celebrate those who are able to "come home" to join us from homebound situations or nursing care facilities.
The day will begin with a time of fellowship from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. for those that are not attending adult Sunday school or Sunday school. We will enjoy crackers and cheese while singing some of our favorite hymns together. We encourage everyone to share a favorite hymn when responding to the invitation so that it can be included in our time of worship and remembrance.
At 11:30 a.m., we will have a family-style luncheon and celebration. The menu will feature chicken, green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes that are all gluten-free, and cake for dessert, with vegan meals available. Children are warmly welcome. Peanut butter and jelly will be available as alternatives.
As we enjoy a meal together, we will take time to recognize and honor long-term attenders of our congregation, families who have faithfully come to our church for many years, and those whose presence continues to enrich our church community. Most importantly, we will celebrate the relationships, faith, and shared history that make First Presbyterian Church such a special place.
To help us prepare, we ask that you RSVP by October 11. Please let us know the number of people who plan to attend, any special dietary needs, and your favorite hymn. You may RSVP through the church office 563-326-1691 or by emailing volunteer@fpcdavenport.org.
We are especially grateful to a generous church member whose donation has made this dinner possible. We hope you will join us for this wonderful opportunity to celebrate with our church family, reconnect with friends, and give thanks for the many blessings we share together.
Sincerely,
The Deacons of First Presbyterian Church
